Join the Oh Yeah team!

We have two positions available through the Job Start programme. These are 6 month contracts for people aged between 16-24 and not currently in education or employment. You could join the team as an Operations Assistant or Receptionist.

 

Operations Assistant

Job Purpose

To assist in the day-to-day running of the Oh Yeah venue, building and projects.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Sanitation and maintenance – (shared with Venue Coordinator and Venue Assistant) ensuring daily:

  • Hygiene checks and cleaning

  • Restocking in the toilets

  • Daily checks around the building

  • Emptying of bins around the building

  • Organising and managing bin collections and cleaners

  • Cafe maintenance.

  • Reporting any issues or ongoing problems

  • Finding solutions to reoccurring issues

  • Regular communication with staff and tenants

  • Maintenance of music exhibition space, floors, tables etc.

  • Daily checks of the event diary.

Regular correspondence and communication with Venue Coordinator and venue assistant in event prep and set up – (shared depending on rota)

  • Setting up the venue for events

  • Assisting other staff during events

  • Clean up and tidy post events

Café Duties

  • To adhere to the cafes outlined operating procedures at all times

  • To Ensure guests greeted in a pleasant and courteous fashion and that their needs are attended to in a professional and efficient manner

  • To follow cash handling procedures as outlined in the company’s policy

  • To ensure wastage with cafe products is minimized and recorded as per company

  • stock control procedure

  • To carry out cleaning duties of bar and venue area in line with opening / closing bar

  • procedures

  • To handle any guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner ensuring guest satisfaction at all times and to ensure duty manager is made aware of complaints

  • To upkeep the company’s equal opportunities policy to ensure a neutral working

  • To keep staff/work areas tidy, safe; report any hazard, accident or loss or damage to management and observe all requirements under current health & safety regulations

Other duties

  • Managing building small repairs maintenance – changing light bulbs, organising repairs with other service providers, organising heat, light, electrical, plumbing or other checks deemed necessary.

  • Rehearsal Rooms maintenance, cleaning and tidying

  • General office administration tasks when required

  • Attendance at staff meetings and regular feedback to line manager

  • Weekly reports to line manager and CEO

  • Any other duties the Operation Director may deem necessary and within reason

  • Observe all requirements under Health & Safety regulations

  • To upkeep the company’s equal opportunities policy to ensure a neutral working environment

Receptionist

Main Purpose

A receptionist acts as the point of contact between a business and the customers. They’re multi-tasking employees who also assist with typical administrative tasks.

 

Principal Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the centre

  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person or office

  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls

  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)

  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email

  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries

  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)

  • Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock

  • Room bookings and schedule updates

  • Update calendars and schedule meetings

  • Maintain and keep up to date knowledge of NI Music Exhibition

  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

  • Attendance at staff meetings and regular feedback to line manager.
