Women's Work Presents: Ciara O'Neill @ The Linen Hall Library

  • The Linen Hall 17 Donegall Square North Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT1 5GB United Kingdom (map)

The Linen Hall Library and Women's Work are delighted to launch the brand new EP ‘Woman’ by Belfast based folk Singer Songwriter Ciara O’Neill. Following on from the success of her last EP where single ‘La Lune’ topped the BBC Radio Ulster and RTE Radio1 airplay charts and her subsequent RTE Radio1 Folk Award nomination this event is not to be missed.

If Ciara’s music has one central theme it is her voice, one that silences a room with the first note as well as her heartfelt crafted lyricism never shying away from emotions that are both uncomfortable and universal. The ‘Woman’ EP is an exploration of the beauty and complexities of being a Woman in modern society. Looking at herself, her own female relatives and those Women in history who have lived lives in the shadows, Ciara writes about having a desire for more, not feeling the need to conform to expectations placed on Women and having the courage to be visible.

Expect a night of beautiful music and words of empowerment and truth in the stunning backdrop of the historic Linen hall library.
