Oh Yeah Music Centre run the Youth Open Mic with an aim of providing a safe and welcoming environment for young people to showcase their talents. In an effort to support the next generation of musicians and performers, this event will offer a platform for young people to sing, play instruments, and perform in front of a supportive audience.
Unlike traditional open mic events, which are often held in bars and exclude young people under the age of 18, this event is open to all ages. The event organisers aim to provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere, where young talent can shine and develop their skills.
The event will take place on Sunday 21st May 12pm - 3pm at the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast. Admission is £3, and all are welcome to attend. The Oh Yeah Music Centre staff encourage anyone with a passion for music, performance, or the arts to come out and participate, either as a performer or as an audience member.
"We have always believed that young people have a wealth of talent, and we want to give them a space to showcase that talent," said Sian Mulholland, the Youth Engagement Manager of the Oh Yeah Music Centre. "We are passionate about creating a safe and welcoming environment where young people can feel comfortable and confident as they perform. It’s a vital step in nurturing future talent."
