After launching in London earlier this year with a sold out show at the legendary British music venue The Troubadour where artists such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and many more got their first breaks in the UK, British music platform Generation W is making its debut in Belfast on Tuesday 17th October putting on a live show featuring some of the most exciting women led artists in Northern Ireland at Oh Yeah Music Centre.
Originally a book in the UK featuring 100 leading women such as Olympic champions, Dames, Rock musicians who have sold 50 million records, and many more writing uncensored within it, Generation W has since grown at venues across London to become an important live music experience that celebrates the power and honesty of women in music who play raw and unique interpretations of their music in historic music venues, giving the audience a space to see music as the timeless art it is intended to be made. Previous collaborators with Generation W include Nova Twins, Girli, STORRY, and many more.
Oh Yeah Music Cente is a former bonded whiskey warehouse in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast’s cultural district and was launched with performances from musicians such as Snow Patrol, Starsailor and others and is a non-profit organisation.
Performers at Generation W: Belfast currently include

"Maybe the media should stop literally drawing a circle around cellulite on a girls thigh whilst she's having a great time at the beach and let her enjoy her holiday and stop thinking we are desperate to read it. Make that circle a speech bubble and tell me the hilarious witty joke her girlfriend clearly just said to her that deserved that relatable triple chin cackle. Celebrate the beauty in that"
Northern Irish musician Leah McFall writing in the book Generation W (2019)
