Very excited to announce this collaboration between Old Crows Promotions and Volume Control! We're both very passionate about all ages events and providing opportunity for young people to experience the wealth of talent our country has to offer, especially that created by female/non-binary musicians! So were happy to bring this ASTOUNDING line up.

Old Crows Promotions and Volume Control shows are safe and inclusive spaces that everyone should feel comfortable in.

Virgins

Virgins are a Belfast based shoegaze band, debut single ‘Vows’ released in Aug 22 garnered instant attention and drew Siamese Dream era Smashing Pumpkin comparisons. The band signed to Galway based label Blowtorch Records in early 2022, new single ‘signalling’ followed in Sept 22 with EP ‘transmit a little heaven’ being released on pink vinyl in Oct 22.Both single and EP releases received media and radio coverage; Dan Hegarty gave ‘signalling’ multiple plays, Across The Line and shoegaze radio station DKFM championed the band. Hot Press – ‘Shimmers and glistens’, The Last Mixed Tape -‘Depthful, captivating shoegaze’, Chordblossom, The Thin Air, Dig With It and Japan based Portal Zine all showed appreciation for the release. More recently the EP has made its way into various end of year lists including Shoegaze Blog top 20 releases of 2022 and Destroy/Exists Top 10 Ep’s of the year. November 22 saw the band embark on a 6 date headline UK tour with an Irish tour booked for April 2023

Wynona Bleach

Formed by Melyssa Shannon (Vocals), Jonny Woods (Guitar, Vocals), Aaron Black (Guitar) and Matt Killen (Drums) and Carl Gilmore (Bass) In January 2018, Wynona Bleach began after a 12 Date Russian Headline Tour under their former name of R51. Prior to this they played BBC Introducing stages at Reading and Leeds festivals, supported Feeder, and performed on a televised anniversary of the BBC’s Introducing music show in Northern Ireland at a sold out show in the Ulster Hall alongside Therapy? SOAK Villagers and The Divine Comedy.

Wynona Bleach released their Debut Single “Eyes Burning” in January 2018, and an EP titled “Sugar” in late 2018. They supported Alice in Chains on the irish leg of their World Tour in 2019, after which they retreated to an abandoned warehouse in central Portugal, where they recorded their debut album “Moonsoake” with Bill Ryder-Jones in 2019/early 2020. In august 2021 ahead of announcing a release date for “Moonsoake”, they signed a record deal with Fierce Panda Records.

“Moonsoake” was mixed across the lockdowns in 2020, with the title track recorded in isolation and added “last minute” to the album. As of late 2021, two singles have been released “Glimmer” and “Drag” – the latter being playlisted on BBC radio ulster, as well as charting in the top 40 of Amazing Radio and being featured on multiple Spotify editorial playlists.

Susie Blue

Bringing you Queer Indie Pop from Ireland - Susie Blue is an original artist bringing you queer indie-pop. Her songs are hard hitting, well written and catchy. Backed by a full band her live shows are energetic and filled with audience interaction.

Cora Harkin

Indie-pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cora Harkin’s debut single ‘Busking in the Mirror’ is scheduled for a Spring 2023 release. Cora is as comfortable performing an acoustic set as she is with her live band, commanding the stage with her powerful voice and stage presence. Cora had a busy 2022, performing at festivals, corporate gigs, and hospitality venues.
